Discussion is the main way to establish a sense of community, talk about course content, ask and answer questions, and interact with fellow students. This short lesson will show you have to post a message to a discussion and how to respond to others' posts. By being detailed in your responses, your instructor and fellow classmates can get to know you a bit better!
Discussion forum "etiquette" is important because your words and style can help or hinder a discussion tremendously. Please read the article by Steve Thompson for some basic forum etiquette rules, and then continue with this activity.
Click the link to open step-by-step instructions for posting to a discussion forum. If you have experience with the forum already, simply click "Forum" on your Ecto Learning dashboard, read the first discussion entry, and follow the directions listed there.
When you have finished posting your response, please continue to Activity 5.
NOTE: Remember to return to your discussion forum posting after you complete Activity 5. You will then post a link to your mind map project so others can enjoy and learn from your ideas.
