You are a mineral salesperson trying to sell the mineral of your choice. You must design an advertisement that can be used to sell this mineral. The advertisement should be a newspaper ad or a radio commercial. (If you would like to use a different format it must be approved by me.) To complete this project and receive an A, follow the steps below:
1. Choose a mineral (I recommend that you choose from the handout of 40 common minerals)
2. Choose an audience (Who are you trying to sell this mineral to? What will they use it for?)
3. Choose an ad format (newspaper ad or radio commercial)
4. Research your mineral (How does it meet the 5 criteria of being a mineral? How can you use the 7 properties of minerals to describe it?)
5. Use the information found in your research in a positive way to create your advertisement!
To receive an A, your ad must properly recognize at least 4 of the 5 criteria for being a mineral and at least 5 of the 7 physical properties used to identify minerals. Use creativity and pictures to the best of your ability. Good luck!
