  • Welcome back to Ecto! Today we are going to be finding out our impact (or Footprint) on the earth! How do our lifestyles effect the balance of the Earth? We have become so accustomed to our diets, cars, homes, and energy usage that we don't realize that the Earth will NOT be able to provide the needed resources forever. Let's find out how much damage we are doing.

     

     

  • PART 1: HOW BIG IS AN ACRE?

  • HOW BIG IS AN ACRE?

    Go to google.com and put in that question to find out what an acre might look like or be compared to.
  • So what can 1 acre be compared to? A building? A soccer field? How big of a building? Write your answer below, and make sure your copy the web address of where you got it.

  • Part 2: The Eco Quiz!!! Find out what damage you are doing. 

     

     

  • Please click the first "Take the Test" button. Once you have your results, write them down on your data sheet.
  • Part 3: Enter Data into data table.

    Once you have your personal data, open this file and begin adding the data from the rest of the class. Put in the name of the student, the amount of acres that they use, and the amount of planets that they need.
  • STEP 4: Create your graph! 

  • 1. Fill in the data for just the four or five people in your group.

    2. Then add up all the data and put those in the totals section for your GROUP TOTALS.

    3. We will then add the totals for each group and have a "Class total."

     

     

     

     

  • STEP 5: CLASS TOTALS GRAPH

    1. Create a graph using Class Totals. 

    2. Highlight the Class Totals table and click on the "chart" button in Excel.]

    3. Wa la! You have a graph!

    4. Print it out and color it!
