To get into the details,and RuneLabs will be closed on May 28th which is when Ideas for 2017 ends. Technically it'll be open, but there won't be any new requirements introduced as you will not be able to submit ideas as well as the RuneScape website will not include any hyperlinks to RuneLabs.
In explaining their decision, Jagex announced that they're shutting the project because of the small players' participation in the game. It's understandable for them to prefer to end the project that represents only just a tiny portion of RuneScape players. Jagex acknowledges that system's limitations could be a factor with low participation.
In the near future, Jagex will reopen RuneLabs to address issues that truly require it. For major Player Power pushes such as annual surveys, as an example. It is hoped that this will provide the best ideas the chance to be accepted and gain the support of the public. Jagex is looking at alternatives to this Player Power process.
The second topic we'd like to talk about will be Treasure Hunter. For those who aren't aware, Treasure Hunter is playable within RuneScape. It lets players utilize Keys to win prizes in game. These could range from useful items to rare weapons or exclusive equipment, according to Jagex. If you're looking to play Treasure Hunter, you should simply click on that treasure chest symbol that appears after logging in and follow the steps.
