Now, the game developer is aiming at Gielinor's world as well as RuneScape and plans to RuneScape Gold launch both a board game as well as an RPG book for tabletop gaming this year. The two RPG versions will include a number of the most well-known characters from RuneScape and places, allowing groups of up to five players to play classic quests that are part of RuneScape with the adventures in the world of Gielinor to the home of Gielinor.
Players will be able to craft and upgrade their equipment. They can also interact with NPCs and tackle various side-quests inspired from the popular MMORPG. The board game will go live with an Kickstarter campaign later this year. The tabletop RPG book will go on sale immediately.
The core book for tabletop RPGs will be notably compatible with the huge tabletop RPG Dungeons and Dragons five edition books, allowing dungeon masters to seamlessly incorporate elements from RuneScape into their games.
Jagex the CEO Phil Mansell was optimistic about this project, sharing his enthusiasm regarding it. Kickstarter campaign "involving people from the RuneScape groups," and Steamforged CCO Mat Hart believed the "rich RuneScape universe" will translate beautifully" to a tabletop game.
RuneScape has seen significant growth since its initial browser-based launch over the past few years with Steamforged's board game just the latest offering from Jagex. Runescape developer Jagex's publishing division has secured a promising independent game under it's Jagex Partners label, making Melvor Idle an independent not anymore. It's an idler game that's similar to games such as Clicker Heroes or Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms, was released on Steam earlier this year. It also wears its roots from Jagex's flagship game Runescape extremely proudly.
Melvor Idle is a detailed multi-track idler that seeks to reimagine "the core components to the RuneScape franchise in a manner so that they can be enjoyed without a lot of effort," says the publisher. It's a fairly high-quality idle game that offers a wide range of different things to make and advance, aswell being a focus on Cheap RS Gold avoiding quality mechanics, which require a restart.
