Deutschlandradio App Launches New Audio Platform

Deutschlandradio is Germany's national public radio station. Originally a news radio station, Radio Deutschland changed its distribution strategy in 2003 to terrestrial digital transmission. It broadcasts a variety of informational and talk shows.

Deutschlandradio is optimized to work on Wi-Fi and 3G networks. You can listen to more than 100 different German radio stations from a single app. In addition to the usual program, the application also supports sports and music.

Radio is one of the most popular mediums in Germany. In fact, more than 80% of people over 14 years old regularly follow up. Although the market is very fragmented, there is still a lot to offer. Even so, there are some lessons other mature markets can learn from the German radio scene.

In addition to the usual broadcasts, RTL Radio Deutschland has announced the launch of a new audio platform. This app will feature personalized non-linear audio content and produced by an industry expert.

The company hopes that its Audio Now will become the central audio platform in Germany. A press release released yesterday stated that this will be a free, non-linear and professionally produced audio app.

In addition to news and information, two stations Deutschlandfunk Nova and Deutschlandfunk Kultur broadcast knowledge-oriented programs. They are also transmitted in the same way via FM. These stations are based in Cologne and Berlin respectively.

RTL operates the Audio Alliance, which includes 105'5 Spreradio, JAM FM, podcasts and AUDIO NOW.
