Hare Krishna. Welcome to the Bhagavad-gita Study Guide created by Dhanesvara Das. This introductory note will orient you to the study guide and our teaching methodology.
You may find my approach to understanding the Gita somewhat different than others. I hope so. This is not a class in which it is my job to teach you, or to have you memorize something simply to regurgitate it back on a test in order to get a high grade and praise from the teacher. Our purpose is to ASSIST you in learning. The learning is your job, guidance is mine.
If you have read my blogs, you have some idea of my orientation to Krishna consciousness. If you have read my book you have some idea of my orientation to the Bhagavad-gita. This is a self-study tutor and is meant for the serious student who has some familiarity with Krishna Consciousness. It is not intended as an introductory course, and is not for those who are absolutely new to the precepts of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. For those seeking to learn about Krishna consciousness in a general sense I refer you to http://www.krishna.com/explained, and to your local ISKCON temple (look here for one near you: http://directory.krishna.com/) Krishna consciousness is an entire spiritual culture and it will take some time to understand it. After you have an orientation of it you may want to come back here for the Bhagavad-gita tutorial.
