  • Section III: Animation: Shape Tweening

    Although Flash is not known as a drawing and coloring software, it does have internal drawing and coloring tools that provide the user unlimited creativity and production power.


    Learning objectives for this section

    • Become familiar with the workspace and frame size options and changing them (re-sizing it) as needed.
    • Infer from the meaning of shape tweening.
    • Deduce the differences between shape and motion tweening.
    • Identify and distinguish the three different files created by Flash once published in a web browser, played and saved.
    • Learn the two different ways of inserting shape tweens.
    • Create simple shape tween animations using shapes drawn in Flash.
    • Learn about and how to insert  shape hints to control how a shape tween is generated by Flash.
    • Learn how to remove shape hints.
    • Identify the additional benefits of importing into a document library than importing directly into the main stage.
    • Manipulate images to enable Flash to turn them into animations asset (tracing bitmaps).
    • Become familiar with motion tween including both in and out of the stage animation and in-place animation.
    • Create a multiple shape tween animation
    • Learn to distribute to different layers.
    • Learn how to insert multiple frames in several layers and tween by a single click.
    • Change the opacity of elements on the main stage.
    • Interchanging assets between Flash and Photoshop (maintaing the proper canvas sizes).
    • Ensure proper house keeping by naming all labels for all layers.
    • Identify and use rulers.
